Your Australian student visa requires you to purchase Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) before arriving in Australia, and to maintain it for the duration of your stay. This policy will help subsidise any medical, hospital, prescription medicine or ambulance services you may require whilst living in Australia. 

OSHC will only cover basic medical services; further insurance for dentistry, optometry etc. may be offered by your OSHC provider at an additional premium, or through other private healthcare providers.
