TAFE Student Visa Information for International Students

The following visa subclasses are available to international students:

They are Schools, Tertiary Education, Vocational Training and English Language Intensive Courses for Overseas Students (ELICOS).

Visa Assessment Applicants for a student visa to study at a TAFE in Australia must provide acceptance into a full-time registered course with an Australian institution.
Applicants should note that all TAFE courses for international students are required to be registered with a Federal Government appointed body.

The following important factors are considered in issuing a visa.

• They include the applicant’s financial circumstances and their English language ability.
• Among the other considerations are health and character requirements and the provision of suitable health insurance for him/her and any dependents.
• Conditions may also be attached to any visa.

Combining Courses

All applicants are allowed to undertake preliminary study prior to undertaking their main course subject to their visa conditions.
