TAFE Student Visa Information for International Students
The following visa subclasses are available to international students:
They are Schools, Tertiary Education, Vocational Training and English Language Intensive Courses for Overseas Students (ELICOS).
Visa Assessment Applicants for a student visa to study at a TAFE in Australia must provide acceptance into a full-time registered course with an Australian institution.
Applicants should note that all TAFE courses for international students are required to be registered with a Federal Government appointed body.
The following important factors are considered in issuing a visa.
- They include the applicant’s financial circumstances and their English language ability.
- Among the other considerations are health and character requirements and the provision of suitable health insurance for him/her and any dependents.
- Conditions may also be attached to any visa.
Combining Courses
All applicants are allowed to undertake preliminary study prior to undertaking their main course subject to their visa conditions.
This is called “packaging”.
